Welcome to The Home School Project
Learning should be an adventure, not a checklist.
At The Home School Project, we believe education is most powerful when it’s meaningful, engaging, and hands-on. Our programmes are designed for curious minds who thrive on exploring, creating, and thinking for themselves—helping children develop essential skills while building confidence in their abilities.
What We Offer
🔹 6-Week Project-Based Learning Programmes 🔹
One day a week, over six weeks, children take on exciting real-world challenges, developing problem-solving, research, and collaboration skills. From cracking secret codes to designing sustainable cities, our projects inspire independent thinking and a love for learning. Each project encourages creativity and critical thinking, helping children apply knowledge across multiple subjects in an engaging and meaningful way.
🔹 Group Maths Explorer Sessions 🔹
For upper KS2 pupils looking to secure their key maths skills and build confidence, our small-group sessions provide targeted support to strengthen understanding and lay strong foundations for success. Each 6-week programme focuses on a different area of maths, allowing children to develop fluency in essential skills at their own pace.
🔹 Book Clubs for KS2 & KS3 🔹
Our engaging book clubs encourage children to develop key analysis skills, explore themes, and think critically about literature—building a strong foundation for future study while making reading a shared adventure. Through guided discussions and interactive activities, students gain a deeper understanding of texts in a fun and supportive group setting.
🔹 Private Tutoring (KS1 to GCSE) 🔹
One-to-one support tailored to your child’s needs, whether it’s filling in gaps, stretching their abilities, or preparing for exams. With personalised teaching, students receive focused guidance to help them progress with confidence.
All our sessions are live, interactive, and led by a UK-qualified teacher. For safeguarding purposes, sessions are recorded and can also be accessed in case of absence. We run a 1:15 ratio for our project-based learning experiences and a 1:10 ratio for our group sessions, ensuring every child receives individual support while benefiting from collaborative learning.
Why Choose Project-Based Learning?
Home-educating parents know that learning isn’t just about memorising facts—it’s about making connections, exploring interests, and developing skills that last a lifetime. Project-based learning provides children with a deeper understanding of subjects by encouraging them to question, create, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. Rather than passively receiving information, they take ownership of their learning, working on projects that spark their curiosity and develop key skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication.

About Me
Hi, I’m Amy, the founder of The Home School Project and a dedicated educator with over a decade of teaching experience. I hold a degree in English and Sport, a PGCE, and have taught from Reception through to GCSE in both primary and secondary education. My background includes primary teaching, secondary English teaching, multi-disciplinary project work, and curriculum design, as well as tutoring for 7+, primary subjects, GCSE English, and A-Level English. Over the past four years, I’ve specialised in online education, earning my Google Certified Level 1 Educator qualification and developing methods to keep children engaged in a virtual classroom.
I’m a passionate advocate for project-based learning, believing that education should be hands-on, meaningful, and encourage independent thinking. My goal is to provide home-educated children with engaging, structured experiences that develop confidence, creativity, and essential skills. Whether through collaborative projects, book clubs, or small-group maths sessions, I strive to make learning dynamic, interactive, and inspiring.
